Florida Grapefruit Chung (Hot)

Who says you can’t enjoy the feeling of summer and sunshine in a hot drink? The Florida Grapefruit Chung proves it is possible!

	segmented Florida Grapefruit
180 g	baking soda
200 g	sugar

Step 1
Wash Florida Grapefruit with baking soda in a small bowl.
Step 2
Peel off the outer skin.
Step 3
Segment the Florida Grapefruit. Remove any remaining skin (including interior skin elements).
Step 4
Add the segments of the Florida Grapefruit into the jar until it fills a layer. Then place sugar across the top of the Florida Grapefruit. Repeat developing Grapefruit / Sugar layers until the jar is filled. The final layer should be sugar.
Step 5
Seal jar and leave on the counter at room temperature for one day.
Step 6
After a full day at room temperature, place the jar in a refrigerator for seven days.
Step 7
After seven days of refrigeration, combine pieces of grapefruit and a bit of juice from the jar with hot water to create the delicious, hot drink known as Florida Grapefruit Chung. Enjoy!
