U.S. Cranberry Sauce

What would a festive American menu look like without a fruity cranberry sauce? This recipe shows you how to make the delicious sauce at home.

Featuring U.S. Cranberries

Ingredients

450 g	cranberries (fresh or frozen)
200 g	sugar
100 ml	water
100 ml	orange juice
15 g	ginger (freshly grated)
1	stick of cinnamon

Step 1
Peel the orange and cut the peel into narrow strips.
Step 2
Blanch the orange zests in hot water and cool directly in cold water.
Step 3
Bring orange juice, water and sugar to a light boil until the sugar is stirred in.
Step 4
Add the orange zests and the grated ginger.
Step 5
Bring everything to the boil and add the cranberries.
Step 6
Let everything boil until the cranberries are soft.
Step 7
Take the covered pot from the stove and let the sauce simmer further.
