Cynthia’s Culinary Journey: From America to Berlin
As an American living in Europe since 1985, Cynthia has always retained her roots and connection to her motherland. “Home is where the heart is, and my heart is in Berlin. For over 25 years, food as culture has been my motto,” says Cynthia.
For decades, Cynthia has served up homemade American pastries, breads, and delicacies in her Berlin coffee roastery and deli known as Barcomi’s. What makes American baking so delicious and unique? Amazing ingredients, many indigenous to the U.S., grown by generations of families make U.S. baking what it is. During the holiday season, Cynthia highlights some of her favorite U.S. ingredients, including pecans, peanuts, walnuts and sweet potato.
