U.S. Beef Stew Grand Kentucky Style

This stew gets its rich taste by the aromatic U.S. Beef and a splash of Bourbon. Perfect for cold and comfy days.

1 kg	U.S. Beef
700 g	Onions
150 g	celery
1-2	garlic cloves
30 - 60 g	salt
1	pinch sugar
50 g	cornstarch
	spices like laurel, juniper, a quarter cinnamon stick, 2 star anise, mustard seeds, pimento, a little cayenne, pepper
0,75 l	California red wine
150 ml	American bourbon whiskey

Step 1
Sauté the chopped onions with oil. Add a little salt and let it stew on low heat until the onions almost melt.
Step 2
Cut the meat into large cubes.
Step 3
Brown the meat separately in a frying pan and pour over the onion mixture. Stir everything together.
Step 4
Cut the celery cut into small cubes and add it.
Step 5
Put the spices in a spice bag and add them to the pot, then pour on red wine. Simmer everything together for several hours until the meat is soft on a low flame.
Step 6
Shortly before the end add a big splash of whiskey and season to taste.
